MARENISCO, Mich. - Julie A. Tice, 82, of Marenisco, died on Saturday, Feb. 4, 2023.

Julie was born on Oct. 2, 1940, in Waterloo, Iowa, a daughter of Roy C. "Russ" and Wilma Jean (Troehler) Russell. She graduated from Wheaton High School in Illinois and moved to Marenisco in 1968.

For 26 years, Julie was a dedicated cashier at Leo's Grocery Store in Marenisco. She retired in 1998.

Julie was a faithful and an active member of the Marenisco Presbyterian Church, where she was elected to the Board of Elders and served as its treasurer for more than 20 years.

Julie's hobbies and special interests included gardening, reading, crafting, sewing and baking for community events. She enjoyed meeting her friends in town for breakfast. Julie absolutely loved cats, dogs and especially her precious cat, Frosty.

Julie is survived by two sons, Todd, Memphis, Tennessee, and Tim (Yelena), Marenisco; two grandchildren, Bethany and Daniel; five stepgrandchildren, Nicole, Richard, Ruvim, Michele and Arthur; four great-grandchildren, Gracie, Aiden, Sera and Cayson; two sisters, Carol (David) Harmon, Ironwood, and Patti Anderson, Ishpeming; a brother, Gary (Doris) Russell, Hancock; numerous nieces and nephews; her former husband, Mike (Janette) Tice; and many dear friends.

She was predeceased by her parents; a grandson, Jesse Tice; her daughter-in-law, Robin Tice; and a brother, Roy "Mike" Russell.

A celebration of Julie's life will be held at a later date.
