Donna Marie Nasi

HURLEY, Wis. - Donna Marie Nasi, 93, of Hurley, died at her home with her loving family beside her on March 3, 2023.

She was born Jan. 29, 1930, in Hayward, the daughter of Lester and Kathryn (Dezanko) Compton. Attended Ashland grade school and graduated from Ashland High School.

Her family was always at the center of her life, along with the many friendships she had acquired. Donna had a spark about her that everyone was drawn to. She had endless energy to live life with vigor, strength and love. She was filled with adventure and fun as she always moved forward in life, pursuing many interests, such as watching her grandchildren and great-grandchildren play sports, card clubs, walking, canoeing, winter skiing, water skiing, kayaking, cooking, and riding snowmobiles and four wheelers.

Donna's career began at Carlson's Super Market in Ironwood and then as a secretary at Electronics Products in Hurley. She later managed the Nasi Motel in Kimball and was an active member of the Hurley Chamber of Commerce and had an active role in the Waters of Minocqua.

On December 3, 1947, she married Arne E. Nasi in Bessemer.

Surviving are her son, Wayne (Bridgette) Nasi; grandson, Todd (Tess) Nasi; great-grandchildren, Luke, Vanessa, Hannah, Chayce and Ayden; granddaughter, Erin Houtari; granddaughter, Jessica (Justin) Graham; great-grandchildren, Kate, Juliana and Henry; daughter, Audrey (Don) Teed; grandson, Don (Nina); great-grandchildren, Cash, Ava and Lennox; grandson, Derek; daughter, Kathy Levra; grandson, Daulton (Kelsey); great-granddaughter, Avery; grandson, Mitchell; and daughter, Lona (Rick) Vita; granddaughter, Kristin, great-grandson, Andrew; grandson, Anthony, great-granddaughter, Autumn. She is also survived by a brother-in-law, George (Verna) Nasi; sister-in-law, Beverly Nasi; and numerous nephews and nieces.

Besides her parents, Donna was predeceased by her husband, Arne; and sister, Lois (Jerry) Laurion.

Memorial services will be held Saturday, July 15, at 10 a.m., preceded by visitation at 9 a.m., at Zion Lutheran Church, 100 W. Midland Ave., in Ironwood, Michigan, with Pastor Nicole Hanson-Lynn officiating.

Committal will follow in Saint Mary's Cemetery in Hurley.

A celebration of life will be held from 2 to 6 p.m., at the home of Wayne and Bridgette Nasi, at Pine Lake, 4182 W. Finn Point Road in Oma.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to Regional Hospice, 216 Aurora St., Ironwood, MI 49938.

The family wishes to thank Pastor Nicole Hanson-Lynn, the staff of the Regional Hospice, and numerous caregivers for the wonderful care they provided for Donna.
