Theatre North opens stage to 'Second Samuel'

Theatre North’s current production is “Second Samuel,” written by Pamela Parker and directed by Steve Lundey. It is a play set in 1949 in the town of Second Samuel, Georgia. Ostensibly, it is a play about a carefully kept secret, but it is also about the need for acceptance and open-mindedness.

The characters are just ordinary small-town folks, sort of like the people in Ironwood, Bessemer, Wakefield, Hurley or any of the other small town, who have their lives upended by a secret that finally makes its way into the public eye. And what a secret...
