Dale E. Sain

EWEN, Mich. - Dale E. Sain, 91 of Ewen, passed away Dec. 8, 2022, in Wausau, Wisconsin, surrounded by family.

Dale was born June 11, 1931, to the late Richard and Arla Sain in Ewen.

He was a lifelong resident of Ewen and graduated from Ewen High School. In 1949, he married the former Lorraine Syria.

He served in the U.S. Navy Seabees during the Vietnam Era. Dale worked for the Ontonagon County Road Commission and White Pine Copper Mine until his retirement.

In retirement, he enjoyed going to auctions and yard sales, as well as having his own yard sales.

He also enjoyed playing cribbage, watching the Detroit Lions and Detroit Tigers, reading, hunting, fishing and having coffee with his best friend, Billy.

He is survived by his sons, Brian, Daron and Brad; a brother, Roger (Sandy); sister-in-law, Ann Sain; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Lorraine; a daughter, Cheryl; his parents; a brother, Richard; a sister and brother-in-law Georgia and Claude Zilinsky; a nephew, Tim Sain; and brother-in-law, Carl Joupperi.

A funeral service and burial with full military honors will be held on June 3, at the Methodist Church in Ewen, with visitation from 10 to 11 a.m., and the service at 11 a.m., with Pastor Kay Richter officiating.

The burial will follow at the Evergreen Cemetery in Ewen. A luncheon will take place at the Cloverland Senior Center afterwards.
