Lawrence 'Larry' Miller

POYNETTE, Wis. - Lawrence "Larry" Miller, age 73, of Poynette, passed away in an auto accident on Wednesday, April 19, 2023.

Larry was born on Jan. 3, 1950, in Wayne, Michigan, the son of Douglas and Mildred (Harris) Miller. He joined the U.S. Marines and served in the Vietnam War. Larry worked in machine assembly for Goss Printing (1972 to 1982) and Publishers Equipment (1985 to 1991). He then worked as a cement truck driver for Roscoe Redi-Mix (1991 to 1996) and Rogers Redi-Mix (1996 to 2016). Larry loved working on old motorcycles and vehicles and going to auctions. He had many unique talents and interests.

Larry leaves behind his partner in life for 30 years, Julie Hobel. Together they built a quiet peaceful life they loved, taking long walks, working on their home and lawn, and caring for their precious dog, Dora. He is also survived by his siblings, Susan (David) Dray, Beverly (Roger) Ikola, Douglas (Betty) Miller, and Dale (Nancy) Miller; and other relatives and many friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; and his niece, Brenda Sue Heikkinen.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, May 23, at Pflanz Mantey Mendrala Funeral Home in Poynette with Pastor Michelle Hopp officiating. A visitation will be held on Tuesday from 10 to 11 a.m. at the funeral home. Inurnment will be private. Memorial services in Michigan will be held at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital (stjude.org), to which Larry was a heartfelt donor.
