Serving Gogebic, Iron and Ontonagon Counties
HEEARTLAND, Wis. - Linda Kay (Marshall) Fredrickson, age 67, passed away Sunday, Feb. 4, 2024.
Born in Milwaukee to Audrey June (Chipman) Marshall on Sept. 5, 1956, Linda was raised in Montreal, and later resided in Illinois, Minnesota, Oklahoma, California, and Virginia before returning to Wisconsin. Throughout her life, Linda always spoke fondly of her time spent in Waukegan, Illinois, and Montreal.
Linda graduated from J.E. Murphy High School of Hurley, in 1974 and often reminisced about her time in the marching band drum line. She later graduated from Gogebic Community College in Ironwood, Michigan, and spent her entire career working in the medical field, in both pathology and later health information management.
Many will remember Linda for the way she deeply cared for others. Linda married Daniel J. Fredrickson in Weatherford, Oklahoma, on Feb. 6, 1982, and together had two children. Linda adored her two kids and loved them beyond measure. Her heart never had to grow three sizes like the Grinch, it was already big. Linda had fortitude. Even as her multiple sclerosis advanced, Linda held hope through the toughest of times and continued to encourage and support others around her.
A funny, creative, charismatic and loving person, many will remember their time with Linda sharing a laugh over a cup of coffee. Linda loved a good joke and would often make a point to call her friends and relatives to share it. As an avid crafter, reader and lover of music, Linda shared her creativity with others, whether it was a charismatic letter to say hello, or a hand sewn costume for one of her kids. A generous person to her core, Linda always gave everything she had and shared what she received.
Linda is survived by her husband, Daniel Fredrickson; two children, Dr. Abby Fredrickson and Tim (Caitlin) Fredrickson; granddaughter, Josephine Fredrickson; brothers, Jack (Terri) Marshall and Patrick Marshall; nieces, Amy Hebl, April Marshall and Ann Stensrud; cousin, Deedee Zarzyski; pups, Margaret and Martha, and grand-pups, Maddie and Ditto. Linda is also survived by many other friends and family who loved Linda for her sense of humor and kind heart.
Linda is preceded in death by her mother, Audrey June Marshall; nephews, Michael Marshall and Chip Marshall; and beloved aunts, Parta Nichols-Schaus and Patricia Nichols.
Visitation will be held on March 2, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Pagenkopf Funeral Home in Oconomowoc, Wisconsin, with an opportunity to join family afterward for food and drink from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. at the Delafield Brewhaus. A formal funeral will be held at a later date at her home church in Hurley.
