Dolores 'Doey' C. Sullivan

MERCER, Wis. - Dolores "Doey" C. Sullivan (nee Mlynarczyk), 82, of Mercer, Wisconsin, formerly of Hurley, Sauk Village and Chicago, passed away Tuesday, April 2, 2024.

Dolores was born on June 9, 1941, in Chicago, daughter to Ceceila (Grabarek) and Francis Mlynarczyk. She married James T. Sullivan on Feb. 11, 1961, at St. Florian Catholic Church in Chicago.

Surviving are her daughters, Kathy (Ron) Henchel of Sun Prairie, Sheila (Jeff) Gize of Mercer and Jenny Luse (Chip Orlikowski) of Rhinelander; sister, Frannie Stessl (Joe Stephan) of Highland, Indiana; grandsons, Jeffrey (Maggie) Gize of Mercer and Aaron Luse of Oshkosh, Matthew (Lindsey) Henchel of Grant Park, Illinois, and Daniel (Jessica) Henchel of McCordsville, Indiana; granddaughters, Melissa Schlegelmilch of Philadelphia, and Emily Luse of Lake Mills; great-granddaughters, Madelyn, Kalyn, Charlotte, Evelyn, Molly and Hayden; great-grandson, Lucas; sisters-in-law, Audrey Guild of Mercer and Joan (Jerry) Farrer of Phoenix, Arizona; and many nieces, great-nieces, nephews, great-nephews, cousins and friends.

Besides her parents and grandparents, Dolores was preceded in death by her husband, James T. Sullivan; sister, Camille; and many sisters- and brothers-in-law, aunts, uncles and nephews.

Dolores and Jim retired up North to Mercer. Dolores had many careers throughout her life – from banking, CNA at a nursing home, and an after school program at Mercer School. Dolores enjoyed boating and fishing with Jim. Even though they moved up North, she remained a Chicago Bears fan and would watch the game as much as she could. Dolores was a member of St. Isaac Jogues Catholic Church in Mercer and the Dragonfly Ladies lunch group.

Doey was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, mother-in-law, sister-in-law, aunt, great-aunt and friend. Doey will be greatly missed by all those who loved her.

Cremation has taken place.

A Mass of Christian burial will be held at St. Isaac Catholic Jogues, 5214 Lakeview Ave. in Mercer, at 10 a.m. on Saturday, June 1. A celebration of life will take place at The Pines, 5234 U.S. 51 in Mercer, at noon.
