Joyce Elaine Reid

IRONWOOD, Mich. - Joyce Elaine Reid, age 85, of Ironwood, passed away on Wednesday, April 3, 2024, surrounded by her loving family.

Joyce was born on Dec. 29, 1938, in Ironwood, to Emil and Bertha (Kivi) Siirila. She was a graduate of Ironwood's Luther L. Throughout the years, Joyce enjoyed time at her lake home, travel, playing cards and cribbage, solving jigsaw puzzles, reading, crocheting, cooking, and partaking in karaoke to the joy of all of those around her.

Time spent at the Senior Center was cherished by Joyce, and she loved her snow birding days where she would winter in the Rio Grande Valley of Texas.

Most of all, Joyce loved spending time with her family and friends.

She will be missed by her children, Linda (Tom) Panich of Appleton, Wisconsin, John (Lordes) Silvestri of Mission, Texas, Karen (Glen) Lownsbery of Lake Elmo, Minnesota, Chris (Alan) Johnson of Spokane, Washington, Michael (Christine) Bachand of Iron Mountain, Michigan and Jeffrey Bachand of Hurley, Wisconsin; stepchildren, Mike (Debbie) Reid of Huntsville, Alabama, Patti (Jack) Bertagnoli of Hurley, Wisconsin, and Nancy (Kelly) Thurow of Saxon, Wisconsin; brother, Harold (Jean) Siirila; grandchildren, Brandon (fiancée, Mikayla) and Justin Panich, John, Arthur and Julie Silvestri, Brent (Ashley) Lownsbery, and Joe and Julia Bachand; stepgrandchildren, Justin (Sara) Reid, Jessica (E.J.) Chicoski, Jared (Sonny) Reid, Pam (Tanner) Hermes, Jaclyn (Ricky) Brice and Tracy (Tony) Trolla; several great-grandchildren; and her beloved dog, Brandi.

Joyce was preceded in death by her parents; her husband and best friend, Donald D. Reid, who she married on June 18, 1994, in Appleton, Wisconsin; previous husbands, Arthur Bachand and Bruno Silvestri; brother, Ronald Siirila; sister, Virginia Siirila; and her dog, Heidi.
