WATERSMEET — Beaming faces were a fixture at a May 31 kindergarten commencement ceremony at Watersmeet Township School.
As music teacher Sandra Genisot played “Pomp and Circumstance,” each student walked proudly up the center aisle to take his or her place on a stage bedecked with flowers in the school gym.
The kids did their best to lead the crowd in the Pledge of Allegiance, after which members of the Lac Vieux Desert Band of Lake Superior Chippewa Indians played an honoring song.
