HURLEY, Wis. - Jeannine Ann Saippa, 86, of Hurley, Wisconsin, a long-time former resident of Kimball, passed away on Sunday, July 14, 2024, at the Skyview Nursing Home in Hurley surrounded by her family. 

Jeannine was born and raised in Milwaukee, on July 9, 1938, to Robert and Cecelia Chase. After high school, Jeannine met the love of her life, John "Mitch" Saippa. They later married and moved to Kimball to raise their three children.

Jeannine worked at the Corkscrew Citgo in Hurley, Citgo in Ironwood, the Iron County Courthouse, Walmart, and Jack Food shop in Ironwood. 

Jeannine is survived by her three children, Ricky Sr. (Sue) Saippa, David Saippa and Deborah (Pat) Rady; her sister, Linda Chase; 12 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren. She is further survived by her lifelong friends, Gail Kniska, and Bruce and Sandy Gordon; and many other relatives and friends.

Jean was preceded in death by her husband, John; her parents, Robert and Cecelia; two brothers, John and Bill; two sisters, Marlene and Sharon; and her stepmother, Mildred.

Visitation for Jean will be held on Saturday, July 20, from 9 a.m. to the time of her funeral service at 10 a.m. with Pastor Mike Hill officiating at the McKevitt-Patrick Funeral Home in Ironwood.
