WITH FIRST-GRADERS taking the lead, Watersmeet Township School kids dance in the gym during a Nov. 7 mini pow wow. During the two-hour event, students and community members learned about the Ojibwe language and the Seven Grandfather Teachings. Emcee Ricky White also encouraged attendees to dance, and head male dancer Jerry McGeshick helped to lead them during the event celebrating Native American Heritage Month and the school's Nimrod spirit.
