CITY SQUARE

PLAYING THE flute during a First Friday concert on Sept. 4 at Ironwood's Downtown City Square is Elizabeth June, as part of the Michigan-based Celtic band called On the Lash. June is also the band's lead vocalist. Other band members not shown are Patrick Hartson, Joel Tyrone Myers and John Robey. The final First Friday event will be on Oct. 2, coinciding with the 10th annual Plaidurday celebration, which is aiming to break a goal by attracting 1,000 plaid-dressed folks to take a group photo on Aurora Street at 5:30 p.m. That day's live music in the Square will include Finding Feathers from 3:30 to 5 p.m. and The Rusty Snails from 5 to 6:30 p.m.
