The Pabst "H" site is on Bonnie Street, a quarter mile south of the trailhead that is near the corner of Bonnie and Ayer streets in Ironwood. In 2026, 100 years ago today, the Pabst Mine caved in, killing three electricians and trapping 43 miners until they were rescued 129 hours later as a crowd of onlookers watched. Tonight from 6 to 7 p.m.: Free roundtable discussion with historian Larry Peterson of Ironwood and Wakefield author Bruce Cox, moderated by historian Ivan Hellen of Erwin Township, at the Ironwood Carnegie Library. Includes light refreshments.
