Conference champs, finally!

Northstars' first title in 52 years comes down to final set of final match at Butternut

BUTTERNUT, Wis. - The other team was off the bench, celebrating a decades-long conference championship drought, after seemingly getting the 25th point in the fourth set.

Yet Hurley, looking to do the same thing, had life, a net violation giving that point to them.

The Northstars took advantage, scoring the final six points of the set to win it 26-24 and then surviving a back-and-forth fifth set for a 15-13 victory. Butternut still hasn't won a conference title since 1959. Hurley's 52-year drought, on the other hand, is over.
