  • Greenough wins top prize at 61st annual Art Show

    IRONWOOD - Area artists displayed their work this past weekend at the Range Art Association's 61st annual Art Show at the Ironwood Memorial Building. Association president Nancy Korpela said she was pleased with the quality of art submitted this year. "The artists submitted very professional work this year," she said.   • Wash Day teaches kids about old ways

    WAKEFIELD - The Wakefield Historical Society Museum held its annual Wash Day on Saturday afternoon. Several local children attended the event. The museum had several vintage washing implements out on the lawn. The children were outfitted with aprons and bandanas before they took to the basket of "dirty" laundry.     Iron County students attended the county’s annual 4-H summer camps earlier this month, an opportunity to get away from home and interact with their peers in a different setting. Children in third through fifth grade attended the traditional camp at North Lakeland Discovery Center in Manitowish Waters from July 12 to 15, while those in sixth and seventh grades attended outpost camp at Lake of the Falls.
