Jeannette Catherine Komsi

VENICE, Fla. - Jeannette Catherine Komsi, 83, of Englewood, and Montreal, Wis., passed away peacefully Thursday, Oct. 22, 2015.

She was born Sept. 15, 1932, to Charles and Ada (Clay) Kelley in Baltimore. After high school graduation, she moved to Miami, and was employed at RCA Records. There she met her future husband on a blind date, Wayne John "Jack" Komsi who was in the U.S. Marine Corps stationed nearby.

She raised their four children during her multiple overseas tours prior to her next passion, nursing. She was employed as an Iron County Home Health Aide and furthered her education at Gogebic Community College to become an LPN. Later she completed an operating room tech program in Florida. She worked at Grand View Hospital, Englewood and Venice hospitals prior to over 20 years as a private-duty nurse and companion. Alzheimers disease begrudgingly forced her retirement in 2013 at the age of 80.

Jeannette is survived by her husband, Wayne "Jack;" her children, Terrilynn Ratzel (Michael) of Rotunda West, Aileen Potter of Montreal, Wis., Wayne Komsi III (Michele) of North Vernon, Ind., and Thomas Komsi of Kill Devil Hills, N.C .; grandchildren, Lori Abney of Beaumont, Texas, Bryan Sieradzki (Marcia) of Mukwonago, Wis., Vikki Warrick of Duluth, Minn., Shawn Warrick (Chelsea) of Federal Way, Wash., Krystin Mieloszyk of Montreal, Kyle Mieloszyk of Montreal, Kimberly Traczyk (Darrin) of Lake Elmo, Minn., Belinda Bickford (Joe) of Lac Du Flambeau, Wis., Rebeka Komsi (Nate Webb) of Sardinia, Ind., Robbyn Komsi and Wayne J. Komsi IV of North Vernon, Ind .; nine great-grandchildren; a sister-in-law, Waynoka Kelley of Yawkey, W.Va .; a niece and godchild, Joann Melita Mitchell of Haverty Grace, Md .; and several other nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and her brothers and sisters.

A private memorial service will be held at a later date.
