Nancy Estella Huber

HURLEY, Wis. - Nancy Estella Huber, 80, passed away peacefully surrounded by loving family and caregivers on Oct. 22, 2015, at Villa Maria Health and Rehab.

Nancy was born on Jan. 25, 1935, in Delafield, to Bertha and Harry Lugner, who precede her in death. She grew up in the surrounding Milwaukee area in the countryside and on her sister's farm. As a young woman, she worked as a caregiver in a hospital setting and later had several domestic service jobs throughout her life.

Her love for nature was passionate. If you entered her house, you would always find wildflowers on the table, forest mushrooms in the refrigerator, a baby turtle or injured bird as her pet and a crock brewing dandelion wine.

Nancy will be remembered by her family and friends as a loving, caring and giving person. She enjoyed painting, writing and cooking. She was the epitome of creativity and kindness. Her laughter will be heard in our hearts forever.

Nancy is preceded in death by her loving husband of 25 years, Daryl Huber; and siblings Harry Lugner Jr., June Peterson, Virginia Quast and Don Lugner.

She is survived by children, Heide Boyden and her husband, David, Dawn Psenicka, Jim Psenicka, Don Psenicka and Steven Psenicka; grandchildren, Ashlee Psenicka, Madison Mears, Tanner Boyden, Mackenzie Boyden, Courtney Psenicka and Autumn Psenicka; numerous other relatives, and a host of friends.

Friends are cordially invited to a visitation with the family at 12:30 p.m. directly followed by a 1 p.m. memorial service Monday, Nov. 2, at the Manitowish Waters Community Church, 49 S Hwy. 51, Manitowish Waters. A graveside ceremony at Presque Isle Cemetery will immediately follow the memorial. To further celebrate Nancy's life, there will be a late afternoon luncheon after the closure of services at Skyview Supper Club.
