Man killed in US 2 accident

IRON RIVER, Wis. — A 54-year-old Iron River man was killed when his vehicle collided with a semi tractor-trailer east of Iron River on Wednesday.

Dean A. Lusikka was pronounced dead at the scene on U.S. 2, near Crooked Lake Road, according to the Wisconsin State Patrol.

The two-vehicle accident occurred at 11:59 a.m. on Wednesday.

Police said a westbound pickup truck driven by Lusikka lost control on the slippery highway during “medium to heavy” snowfall throughout Bayfield County.

The pickup slid into the eastbound lane of the highway, where it collided with the westbound 2002 Peterbuilt semi driven by Bryan W. Brasch, 31, of Iron River. He was not injured.
