MERCER TRAIL EXTENSION

WORK CONTINUES in preparation for construction of a seven-mile, non-motorized trail connecting Mercer, Wis., to the trail system in the Manitowish Waters area. Bonnie Banaszak photographed workers cutting down trees along U.S. 51, where the trail will run. The entire path is scheduled to be completed in September. Once completed, the trail will stretch from the edge of town to the Vilas County line.
