IRONWOOD TOWNSHIP - Big Powderhorn Ski Resort welcomed in the new year on Saturday night with its annual torchlight ski parade and fireworks show.

The parade, which has become a favorite event for many visitors, drew a crowd as a line of skiers waved flares as they made their way from the top of the mountain down to the base.

As they snuffed out the torches, the mountain lit up with red and green as the fireworks show began. The crowd gathered behind the Gun Barrel and Caribou lodges, bundled up against the cold as they cheered with each wave of fireworks.

In addition to the fireworks show, earlier in the evening, the lodge hosted a holiday party for the younger audience, inviting them to dance and sing along with the DJ at the Gun Barrel Lodge, playing such songs as the "Cha Cha Slide" and the "Cupid Shuffle."
