Lois Brewer

WAUPUN, Wis. — Lois Brewer, 91, of Waupun, died Wednesday, Oct. 16, 2013, at Marvin’s Manor in Waupun where she resided for the past six years.

Lois was born Dec. 28, 1921, in Waupun, the daughter of Harry and Helen Hanisch Landaal. On Oct. 26, 1940, she married Leo Brewer in Waupun. The couple resided in Waupun until 1964, at which time they moved to Oshkosh. While residing in Oshkosh, Lois was employed in food service at Winnebago Mental Health Center. Lois and Leo enjoyed their retirement years at their cottage in northern Wisconsin and winters in Casa Grande, Ariz.

Lois is survived by her daughter, Louise (Daniel) Powell, of Phoenix; two sons, Gregory (Diane) Brewer, of Sebring, Fla., and Dean (Lynn) Brewer, of Waukesha; grandchildren; great-grandchildren; a sister, Karyl Van Den Hoek, of Waupun; and nieces and nephews.

Lois was preceded in death by her husband, Leo Brewer, in 2002; four sisters, Dorothy Edmunds, Ruth Beer Landaal, Ardis Yule and Bette Felsman.

A gathering of friends and relatives will be held on Tuesday, Oct. 22, 2013, at 1 p.m. at the Werner-Harmsen Funeral Home in Waupun. Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. at Highland Memory Gardens in the town of Trenton, with Greg Nuernberg officiating.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials be directed to the American Diabetes Association at diabetes.org or P.O. Box 11454, Alexandria, VA 22312, or a charity of your choice.
