IRONWOOD, Mich. — Betty Ann Talo, 85, of Pine Lake in the town of Oma, Wis., died Monday, Feb. 3, 2014, at Aspirus Grand View Hospital in Ironwood.

The former Betty Ann Conhartoski was born Dec. 29, 1928, in Montreal, Wis., daughter of the late Arthur and Mary (Buddle) Conhartoski. She attended St. Mary’s Grade School in Hurley, Wis., and graduated from J.E. Murphy High School in 1946. She was employed at Hurley Astronautics for several years and at Munsingwear in Ironwood until it closed.

Betty was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Hurley and a former member of the Iron County Women’s Bowling League, Eagles Auxiliary and the Auxiliary to Iron County Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1580. She loved to read and enjoyed cooking, sewing, canning and gardening.

She was married to Frank Traczyk on April 12, 1947, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Hurley, by the late Msgr. Michael Prock. Frank preceded her in death on Sept. 2, 1966.

She then married John Talo. He preceded her in death on July 17, 2004.

Surviving are three sons, Frank (MaryAnn) Traczyk, Park City, Utah, David (Gerry) Traczyk, Hurley, and Gerald Traczyk, Hayward, Wis .; 10 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; three sisters, Mary Alice (Joseph) Traczyk, Hurley, Kathleen Paro, Bergland, and Patti (Roger) Paige, Hurley; brothers- and sisters-in-law, Stanley and Donald Traczyk, both of Hurley, and Jane Conhartoski, Kenosha, Wis .; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Besides her parents and husbands, she was preceded in death by a brother, Michael Conhartoski; and two daughters-in-law, Marijane Traczyk and Cathy Traczyk.

Per Betty’s wishes, cremation has taken place.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday, Feb. 8, at 11 a.m., preceded by visitation at 10 a.m., at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Hurley, with the Rev. Frank Kordek OFM, celebrant.

Luncheon will follow at the Liberty Bell Chalet in Hurley.

Rite of Committal and interment will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Hurley, in the spring.
