Riley was selected by Mayor Dale White to fill a full-term vacancy on the library board. The council approved the nomination unanimously. She was born on June 29, 1960, in Ironwood, the daughter of William O. and Elizabeth (DeMario) Ketola. She attended Central Grade School and graduated at Luther L. Wright High School in 1978.
