    BESSEMER - U.S. Rep. Dan Benishek, R-Crystal Falls, who serves Michigan's First District, awarded a Congressional Award Gold Medal to A.D. Johnston senior James Jendrusina on Wednesday.     As the Public TV 13's High School Bowl quiz bowl tournament nears its end, two local teams - Bessemer and Ironwood - have won their way into the semifinals and are eagerly hoping for a Gogebic Range final. Both Ironwood coach Steve Boyd and Bessemer coach Dave Rowe praised their neighboring school, saying they are always glad when the other team wins - except when its in head-to-head competition.     Daniel Gene Colasacco reached his heavenly victory on March 6, 2015, at the age of 71, after fighting a valiant earthly battle against cancer. He is survived by his loving and devoted wife of nearly 52 years, Joanne, who spent the last month tenderly caring for him at his bedside. His daughter, Danielle Cast, knows she was always loved and adored. His son-in-law, Kevin, considers him a father.   • Ironwood second graders play, learn at Wolverine

    IRONWOOD TOWNSHIP - Two classes of Ironwood second graders were able to get outside and enjoy the nice weather Wednesday when they took a field trip to Wolverine Ski Trail for some snowshoeing and a special science lesson. The two classes, taught by Michelle Giackino and Tony Bunt, were mixed together and then divided into two groups.
