    IRONWOOD - Great weather and solid crowds graced the 100th anniversary of the Gogebic County Fair in the final two days of its Thursday-to-Sunday run.     IRONWOOD — Gogebic Community College officials announced Friday that the college will require face masks to be worn indoors. The decision follows the recommendation of both the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services.     HURLEY, Wis. — David Dale “Chief” Khoury, 74, of Hurley, passed away peacefully on Thursday, Aug. 12, 2021. David was born Nov. 5, 1946, in Wakefield, Michigan, to June Martin and Dale Khoury. He attended Union Grove High School in Union Grove, Wisconsin, and graduated in 1965. He then entered military service in the U.S. Navy on April 5, 1966. On Dec. 12, 1970, he married Deidre Zirzow of Silver Lake, Wisconsin, with whom he shared 20 years of marriage and two children. She was born on July 12, 1954, in L’Anse, a daughter of Martin Arnold and Sylvia Mary (Kiviranta) Wanhaaho. On Aug. 4, 1984, Marlene was united in marriage to David Lyle Thomas in Evanston, Wyoming.
