WAKEFIELD — Indianhead Mountain opened to skiing on Friday, after record snowfall has fallen this year. “We’ve been fortunate to get all this natural snow and cold weather so we can also make snow,” said general manager of Indianhead, Barry Bolich. “Indianhead will be able to offer some of the best early season skiing in years,” he said. Shoppers across the country were out looking for the best deals during Black Friday sales, with some shoppers starting as early as Thursday. WASHINGTON (AP) - It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas at the White House now that the official tree has arrived. A horse-drawn wagon hauled the 20-foot white fir up the driveway to the North Portico for inspection on Friday morning. Receiving the tree were first lady Michelle Obama, daughters Malia and Sasha and family dogs Bo and Sunny. IRONWOOD TOWNSHIP, Mich. - Wilma J. Cigallio, 88, of Mountain View Road, Ironwood Township, died peacefully on Thanksgiving Day, Thursday, Nov. 27, 2014, in Wakefield. She was born March 13, 1926, in Ironwood, daughter of the late William "Bill" and Inez (Jarvi) Korpela. Wilma graduated from the Luther L. Wright High School with the class of 1944.
