Betty Lou Kaczmarek

RAMSAY, Mich. - Betty Lou Kaczmarek, 72, a longtime resident of Ramsay, passed away unexpectedly Monday, Nov. 17, 2014.

Betty was born on July 18, 1942, in Wakefield, the daughter of William John and Linda (Maki) Karling. She attended Wakefield High School and graduated in 1960. Betty continued her education in Milwaukee and earned a degree in cosmetology.

On Jan. 23, 1965, she was united in marriage to Stanley C. Kaczmarek at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Wakefield.

Betty enjoyed preparing Sunday and holiday dinners for her family and traveling to see her son, Andrew, and his family at their duty stations in the U.S. Air Force. In her free time, she loved to walk, garden and spend quality time with her grandchildren at Lake Superior.

Betty is survived by two sons, Stanley (Kelly), Florence, Wis., and Lt. Col. Andrew (Wendy), Colorado Springs, Colo .; two daughters, Monica (Brian) Kuchinski, Wakefield, and Angela (Garth) Stengard, Ironwood; eight grandchildren, Alexandria (Shane) Graves, Zachary and Chelsea Kuchinski, Katlin, Jeffrey and Jay Kaczmarek and Sawyer and Aundrea Stengard; two sisters, Anna Mae Flowers, Andrews, S.C., and Marilyn Karling, Bessemer; four sisters-in-law, Joyce Karling, Bessemer, Alice Karling, Cleveland, Tenn., Marian (Bernie) Brentar, Lake Gogebic, and Margaret (Gene) Bauer, Eagle River, Wis .; three brothers-in-law, Robert Delich, Bessemer, Rev. Msgr. James Kaczmarek, Iron Mountain, and David (Barb) Kaczmarek, Green Bay, Wis .; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Stanley, on Aug. 30, 1995; an infant daughter, Elizabeth; three brothers, William, David and Edward Karling; and two sisters, Susan Karling and Ruth Delich.

A funeral service will be held on Saturday, Nov. 22, 2014, at 11 a.m., preceded by visitation at 10 a.m., at the Lakeside Memorial Chapel in Wakefield, with the Rev. Roy Speck officiating.

Interment will take place at a later date in Lakeside Cemetery, Wakefield.
