GLIDDEN, Wis. - Beverly Gail Swanson, 76, of Glidden, passed away peacefully Tuesday, Jan. 19, 2016, in her home, surrounded by her loving family.

She was born May 18, 1939, in Ewen, Mich., the daughter of Hubert D. and Martha S. (Korhonen) Anderson. Beverly graduated from Ewen High School. She worked at the Ewen Post Office and on June 6, 1959, she was united in marriage to Harry C. Swanson in Ewen. She then worked as an aide at Trinity Hospital for more than five years, after which she attended Gogebic Community College, becoming a Licensed Practical Nurse. She then worked for Memorial Medical Center in Ashland for more than 29 years.

Survivors include her husband of 56 years, Harry C. Swanson, of Glidden; four children, Harry J. (Roberta), of Bessemer, Mich., Gail Godbee, of Glidden, Donald Swanson, of New Richmond, and Karen (Robert) Zielinski, of Endeavor; seven grandchildren, Heather, Dustin, Rikki, Natasha, Coty, Zjanee and Kaelee; two step-grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; one sister, Patricia Daniels, of Bruce Crossing, Mich .; and many other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and brother-in-law, Leon Daniels.

A funeral service for Beverly will be held at 10 a.m. on Friday, Jan. 22, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Glidden with Reverend Dale Heinlein officiating. Visitation will begin at 9 a.m. at the church and continue until the hour of service.

Interment will take place in Mount Hope Cemetery, Glidden.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Trinity Lutheran Church of Glidden, or to the family.

Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the Mountain Funeral Home and Cremation Services of Ashland and Mellen.
