Gloria Enrietti

LAPEER, Mich. — Gloria Enrietti, 92, passed away at Devonshire Retirement Village in Lapeer, with her family at her side.

Gloria was born Oct. 30, 1922, in Hurley, Wis., the daughter of Edward and Maude (Ballore) Hagen. She attended St. Mary’s Catholic grade school and graduated in 1940 from Lincoln High School (now Hurley High School.)

She attended St. Mary’s School of Nursing in Minneapolis before marrying Mark Bruneau Sr. in Milwaukee. Moving back to Hurley, she worked with the Red Cross and at various local businesses. In 1950, she married James Enrietti and worked at Wisconsin Telephone Company, National Metals Bank and Wiita Insurance Agency.

Gloria was a feisty lady who still drove her friends to the senior center into her 90s. She was a caregiver for many family members and frequented Villa Maria Nursing Home, visiting everyone she knew while there. As a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church, she attended Mass daily as long as possible, even on days when bad weather kept others home. Her car didn’t spend much time in the garage. She rarely spent time with hobbies, playing cards or needlework. Her focus was on socializing wherever she went, including the senior center and church functions or at Villa Maria.

In 2014, she sold her home and moved to Lapeer to be closer to family and she continued to socialize at the Devonshire Retirement Village.

Gloria is survived by her daughter, Marcia (Ron) Billie, of Dryden; daughter-in-law, Patti Bruneau, of Chesterfield, Mo .; grandchildren, Gene (Dawn) Billie, of Clinton Township, Derek Bruneau, of Watertown, Mass., James Bruneau, of Chattanooga, Tenn., Leeann (Travis) Klein, of Manitowoc, Wis., and Kristen Bruneau, of Jamaica Plain, Mass .; great-grandchildren, Ian Klein, of Manitowoc, Jessica (Tim) Bosley, of Harrison Township, and Jillian (Dan Johnson), of Clinton Township; great-great-granddaughter, Tessa Isabelle Johnson, of Clinton Township; nieces, Bonita (Gaylord) Briley and Rita Nolan, and many cousins.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her two husbands, Mark Bruneau Sr. and James Enrietti; sons, Mark Bruneau and Dennis Enrietti; granddaughter, Janine Billie in infancy; sister, Fern Nolan; brother, Forest Hagen; sisters-in-law, Rose Enrietti and Gloria Enrietti; brothers-in-law, Lawrence Enrietti and Renato Enrietti; and nephew, John Nolan.

At her request, cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be scheduled at a later date at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Hurley. Memorials may be made to the church in her memory.
