Allan John Kaare

DULUTH, Minn. — Allan John Kaare, 87, of Trout Creek, Mich., passed away on Wednesday, March 30, 2016, in Duluth.

He was born on Dec. 29, 1928, in Agate, Mich., to the late Henry and Maria Kaare. On Aug. 8, 1959, Allan was united in marriage to Arlene Lespi. She preceded him in death in 1998.

Allan was a graduate of Trout Creek High School. After graduation, he went on to Suomi College and then Northern Michigan University where he earned his teaching degree. Allan taught at Ewen-Trout Creek High School for 30 years, retiring in 1985. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War and was awarded a Purple Heart.

Allan enjoyed fishing, sports, watching his grandchildren grow and spending time with his special friend, Phyllis Gustafson.

In addition to his parents and wife; he was preceded in death by his sisters, Elma, Saima and Ellen “Tynne;” and brothers, George and Arvo.

Allan is survived by his sons, Jay (Carolyn), and Bill (Rae); grandson, Jason (fiancé Kelly), and granddaughter, Lacey.

Funeral services for Allan will be held at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Trout Creek on Monday, April 4, at 11 a.m. EDT. Friends may call at the church two hours prior to the start of the service. Spring burial will take place in the Agate Cemetery in Agate. The Cane Funeral Home-Bruce Crossing Chapel is assisting the family.
