Julia Bugaiski

IRONWOOD, Mich. - Julia Bugaiski, 93, of Ironwood Township, died early Wednesday morning, March 29, 2017, at Westgate Nursing, Rehabilitation and Assisted Living Community in Ironwood.

The former Julia Pachmayer was born Jan. 15, 1924, in Ironwood, daughter of the late Stephen and Mary (Smelko) Pachmayer, and attended Luther L. Wright High School.

She was married to Harry A. Bugaiski on Nov. 16, 1946, in Detroit. He preceded her in death in 1965.

Julia was employed at Dodge Main, Burroughs Corp. and Borg-Warner in Detroit, retiring in 1986 and moving to Ironwood Township. She enjoyed going to the casino, sewing, crocheting, stain glass work and cake decorating, winning a grand prize at the Gogebic County Fair for her crocheting.

Surviving are a son, Gary (Karen), Washington, Mich .; daughter, Darlene (Donald) Turbin, Midland; four grandchildren, Kim Turbin, Jackson, Kristy (Todd) Yocum, Belleville, Amy (Rodd) Cunningham, Midland, and Ryan Bugaiski, Utica; four great-grandchildren, Madison, Brooke, Claire and Grant; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and husband, Julia was predeceased by brothers, Lawrence in infancy, John, Steve, Donald "Dotso," Louis "Kuka" and Clement Pachmayer; and sisters, Tess Kurlovich, Irma Cvengros, Mary Pachmayer, Anna Lambrix, Mary Quigley, Helen Warner and Ruth Milokna.

Out of respect for her wishes, cremation has taken place.

Visitation will be from noon until 2 p.m. on Saturday, April 1, at McKevitt-Patrick Funeral Home, 305 N. Lowell St., in Ironwood. Memorial services will follow at 2 p.m., with the Rev. Robb Jurkovich officiating.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Westgate Nursing Resident Activities.
