William 'Bill' Justusson

HENDERSONVILLE, Tenn. — William “Bill” Justusson, of Farmington Hills, Mich., recently residing in Hendersonville, passed away quietly in his sleep on June 7, 2017.

He was born on Jan. 10, 1930, the only child of William Justusson and Lyydia (Ruuhinen of Finland) Justusson.

Bill was preceded in death by his wife of 62 years of marriage, Nadine (Matson) Justusson, of Ironwood, Mich .; his son, Dan Justusson, in 2011; his daughter, Lisa Justusson, in 1987; and his son-in-law, Chris Strehl, in 2012.

He is survived by two sons and two daughters, Jerry Justusson and wife Karen Justusson;, Chris Justusson and wife Maureen Justusson, Cindy Justusson Strehl and Terry Justusson. He is also is survived by 12 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Bill had a successful career as a Metallurgical Engineer at Ford Motor Company. He was a graduate of Michigan Technological University and the University of Wisconsin. In the early years, Bill and Nadine moved around the country for work and children: Jerry was born in Texas, and Dan was born in Pennsylvania. They finally settled down in Michigan, when he began working for Ford Motor Company in 1953, and they had four more children.

Bill and Nadine decided early in their marriage to work hard and retire young. They retired in 1986 and were able to enjoy several years together traveling to Ironwood and Florida. They both especially loved visiting Ironwood every summer for four to six weeks to visit their family and childhood friends.

Our parents had a love that endured the years and our father missed our mom every day since her passing in 2010. Our hope is that they are together again.

Bill’s ashes will be interned with his wife and children at Glen Eden Lutheran Memorial Park in Livonia, Mich.

The memorial will be held on July 16, from 1 to 5 p.m., at 59 West Banquets, 786 West Highland Road, Highland, MI 48357.
