Hurley Head Start students venture out for a trek at the Wolverine Trails in Ironwood Township Thursday. It was the first time on snowshoes for many of them. Teacher Linda Slining's class participated in a fruit and vegetable scavenger hunt along the Snowflake Snowshoe Trail, led by University of Wisconsin-Extension Iron County Nutrition Educator Deb Leonard. Teachers and grandparents also took to the trails. "Students learned that being active and choosing fruits and vegetables is fun to do," said Leonard.
