Trailhead work bee planned for Saturday

THE TRAILHEAD between the Montreal River and U.S. 51 in Hurley, seen here Thursday, will be the site of an ICORE work bee Saturday.

HURLEY - With the snow melted and spring here, Iron County Outdoor Recreation Enthusiasts is planning a work bee at the Hurley trailhead near the Montreal River Saturday.

The cleanup will begin at 1 p.m. and will include planting trees, clearing the trail, picking up any litter that accumulated over the winter, starting a native plant garden, staining benches and other projects to beautify and improve the trailhead between the local motorized and non-motorized trails.

Organizers ask volunteers to bring work gloves and meet at the trailhead between U.S. 51 and the Montreal River.
