A TEMPORARY traffic light pauses westbound traffic just west of Steiger's Hardware on U.S. 2 in Bessemer Thursday morning, to allow eastbound traffic to use the sole open lane on the north side of the highway. The Michigan Department of Transportation recently began a two-year project that will rebuild the roadway across the city, replace infrastructure below, improve driver visibility and result in a three-lane highway.
