TOSSING WASTE from inside the second floor of the now closed Pit Stop Bar & Grill in Bessemer is Scott Tanula for Superior Excavating, Inc. in Hurley. Tanula said it won't be long before the entire building is demolished in preparation for Kwik Trip's plans to construct a convenience store and gas station within the entire block bordered by U.S. 2 and South Sophie, South Moore and East Mary streets. Pit Stop owner Dan Whitburn is working to open a new location just a couple doors up on the main street.
