Sally Ann Abramson

HURLEY, Wis. - Sally Ann Abramson, 72, of Hurley, passed away Monday, Dec. 18, 2023, at Aspirus Ironwood Hospital in Ironwood, Michigan, with her family at her side.

Sally was born Dec. 5, 1951, in Ironwood, a daughter of Kenneth and Oddny Anderson. She attended Roosevelt School in Ironwood Township, Michigan, where she played basketball and was a cheerleader. Sally later attended Luther L. Wright High School in Ironwood.

Sally had a strong work ethic and worked several different jobs throughout her career. She was most proud of being an over-the-road truck driver and a school bus driver for the Hurley School District, where she loved all "her kids."

Sally treasured time spent with her children, grandchildren and great-grandson. She enjoyed going to the casino with her sisters, playing bingo and visiting with her neighbors. Sally made friends everywhere she went. She was loved and cherished, and will be deeply missed by all.

Sally is survived by her four children, Stacy (Quinn) Kokely, Billie "JoJo" (Kevin) Hellen, Sherry Hellen and Bradley Hellen; seven grandchildren, Michael (Stephanie) Kitto, Dustin (Kendall) Kokely, Amaleigh (Brody) Hellen, Jordan Kokely, Shealyn Pease, Kailer Pease and Jaxson Pease; a great-grandson, Kaysen Kitto; her siblings, Susan (Sue) Anderson, Dawn Mylly, Jill (Kim) Kangas, Eric (Jean) Anderson and Laurie (Mark) Wesa; and several nieces and nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews, and great-great-nieces and great-great-nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Daniel and Donald; a sister, Linda; her brother-in-law, Jim; and two great-nephews, Trevor and Josh.

A celebration of Sally's life will be held at a later date.
