'BRING ONE HOME'

AUTHOR THOMAS Pelissero of Erwin Township addresses a Saturday morning crowd regarding his book, "Bring One Home: A Memoir of Boyhood, Basketball, and Hometown Spirit." The book, which recalls Pelissero's youth as he grew up in Bessemer, became available for sale on that day, with proceeds going to the Bessemer Public Library. The book parallels a losing streak of the Bessemer Speedboys with the waning local economy of that period. Saturday's event, for which Pelissero received a standing ovation, took place in the auditorium of the Bessemer City Hall.
