Curtis C. Rundquist

WOODRUFF, Wis. - Curtis C. Rundquist, 76, of Manitowish Waters, died unexpectedly Sunday, June 7, 2015, at Howard Young Medical Center in Woodruff. He was the son of Alice and Elmer Rundquist of Ironwood, Mich.

He retired from Enbridge Corporation (formerly Lakehead Pipeline) after 30 years with the company as a heavy equipment operator on the maintenance crew, and after retiring, returned to Enbridge as an inspector on the pipeline.

Prior to his employment with Enbridge, he was employed with Bechtel Construction, Ruppe Cement Products and as a mechanic at various gas stations.

Curtis enjoyed his home, which he designed, in Manitowish Waters, along with the wildlife, boating and fishing. As a gifted mechanic, he enjoyed working on cars, anything mechanical, and assisting others with their problems. He designed and built a stock car and participated in several races in the area. For some time this was his hobby.

As a very loving, caring father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother and step-father, he will be missed by family and friends.

Curtis is survived by a daughter, Marjorie Jean (John) Bigham, Newark, Delaware; his grandchildren, John Bigham Jr., and Sean Bigham, Newark, Brandon Garro, Iron Belt, and Brooke Garro, Hurley; great-grandchildren, Audrey, Lucas and McKenzie Bigham of Newark; a sister, Jackie (Don) Carlson, Ashland; two brothers, Chuck (Kathy) Rundquist, Stillwater, Minn., and Jon Dean (Roberta) Rundquist, Chisago City, Minn .; a step-daughter, Raetta (Dean) Fudaley, Hurley; step-son, Mike Babcock, Pence; and very close friend, Theresa Reglin, and her children, of Ironwood.

He was predeceased by his parents, Alice and Elmer Rundquist, and his wife, Jean.

Funeral services will be held Monday, June 15, at 11 a.m., preceded by visitation at 10 a.m., at the McKevitt-Patrick Funeral Home, 305 N. Lowell St., in Ironwood, with Pastor Randall Hoffman of Harbor Lights Baptist Church in Ashland presiding.

Committal and interment will follow in Riverside Cemetery, Ironwood.

Luncheon will be served at Tacconelli's in downtown Ironwood immediately upon return from the cemetery.

Serving as pallbearers will be Dan Peterson, Mike Babcock, Dean Fudaley, Mark Ruppe, Paul Luoma and Kurt Luoma.

Honorary pallbearers will be John Bigham, John Bigham, Jr., Sean Bigham, Roby Roboleski, James Roboleski, and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to the Salvation Army.
