    WAKEFIELD - The family of John M. Pachmayer aimed to have 100 people at his 100th birthday last Saturday, and that objective was likely achieved. The celebration began with a social time in the bar area of Wakefield VFW Post 9084, where friends, family members and associates gathered as immediate family transported Pachmayer around the room in his wheelchair.     WATTON, Mich. — Roy W. Mannikko, 94, of Watton, passed away on Thursday, April 4, 2019 at Aspirus Hospital, Iron River, Mich. after a brief illness. Roy was born on April 29, 1924, in Sidnaw, Mich, to the late Aila Syrjala and Victor Manikko. He graduated from L’Anse High School. Roy married Ruby M. Fountain on April 22, 1950 in Sault Ste.     GRAND RAPIDS — Federal Department of Justice officials announced the sentences of a downstate Michigan man in a wild fish trafficking case last week. John Cross and John Cross Fisheries Inc., of Kalamazoo, were sentenced for trafficking in illegally transporting and selling lake trout, according to a department news release, and Cross Fisheries was also sentenced for making false records about whitefish purchases.
