    By RICHARD JENKINS [email protected] HURLEY — The towns of Gurney and Saxon have declared a state of emergency following Wednesday’s ice storm, enabling them to qualify for state funds for the clean-up effort. Rickard, 76, of Wakefield, formerly of Eagle River, Wis., and Stevens Point, Wis., passed away Monday, May 1, 2017, at Gogebic Medical Care Facility, surrounded by his family. Bob was born Sept. 22, 1940, in Houghton, a son of Edwin George and Angeline Anna (Turk) Rickard. He attended A.D. Johnston High School in Bessemer and graduated in 1959.
