Bonnie graduated from Ironwood Catholic High School in 1974. She worked at Superior American Homes, Solberg Drilling, Insitu Corp., and was a vendor for Mac's Bar. "Pepe" Rigotti, 90, of Hurley, formerly a long-time resident of Bessemer, Mich., passed away peacefully Monday afternoon, Aug. 1, 2016, surrounded by his loving wife and family. Julius was born on July 5, 1926, in Ironwood, the son of Julius and Lena (Favero) Rigotti. He grew up in Anvil, Mich., and attended Anvil School and A.D. Johnston High School in Bessemer.   • Walker seeks federal disaster declaration for July 11 storm

    Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker Wednesday sent a letter to President Barack Obama requesting a federal disaster declaration for nine northern Wisconsin counties affected by July 11-12 torrential rains and flash floods. In the letter, Walker said the storm caused more than $25 million in damage to roads and public infrastructure. The request is for federal assistance to help local governments recover from the disaster.
