Virginia Terevich

MERCER, Wis. - Virginia Terevich, 85, of Mercer, died unexpectedly Sunday, April 5, 2015, at home.

The former Virginia Chizmar was born March 15, 1930, in Chicago, Ill., daughter of the late George and Frieda (Graudin) Chizmar, and graduated from Harrison High School in Chicago in 1948.

She married Stanley J. Terevich on July 3, 1949, in Chicago. They moved to Mercer from Palos Hills, Ill., in 1987. Stanley preceded her in death on March 14, 1990.

Virginia served as past treasurer of the Lake of the Falls Association in Mercer. A big animal lover, she donated to the Humane Society of the United States. She was also an avid Chicago Bears fan.

Surviving are a son, David (Patty), Wausau; daughter, Debra (Randy) Rodgers, Marseilles, Ill .; two grandchildren, April (Neil) Fiorito, Montgomery, Ill. and Sara (Carter) Szok, Plainfield, Ill .; three great-grandchildren, Cade, Cara and Alyssa; a sister-in-law, Bernice (Gene) Filewicz, Fountain Hills, Ariz .; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Besides her parents and husband, Virginia was preceded in death by a great-grandson, Carter; and brother, Eugene Chizmar.

Graveside services will be held Saturday, May 2, 2015, at 11 a.m., in the Mercer Cemetery, with the Rev. Michael Hayden officiating.

Rite of Committal and interment will follow.
