Delores Goldie 'Laurie' Polich

DEERWOOD, Minn. - Delores Goldie "Laurie" Polich, 88, of Deerwood, passed away at home on Dec. 4, 2015, surrounded by her loving family.

She was born April 13, 1927, in Crosby. After graduating from Crosby-Ironton High School in 1944, she attended the Crosby-Ironton Junior College and was employed by Minnesota Power & Light until she married Donald "Denny" Polich on May 23, 1948. Laurie, in partnership with Denny, owned and operated Polich Fuel Company, retiring in 1992.

Laurie was an avid reader. She also enjoyed listening to music, watching sports (especially basketball) and visiting with friends and neighbors. Dearest to her heart was spending time with her family. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother whose endearing ways will be missed by all of us.

She was preceded in death by parents, Agnes and John Andolshek, whom she forever loved and missed dearly; and brothers, Edward, John (Libby) and Albin (Alice).

She is survived by her husband of 67 years, Donald "Denny" Polich; their children, Linda Frogner (Bill), of Lino Lakes, Greg (Linda), of Ironwood, Mich., Vicki Polich, of Deerwood, and Mark (Cynthia), of Tucson, Ariz .; granddaughters, Adrienne Polich Kincaide (Todd), of San Francisco, Ginger Polich, MD, of Boston, Kate Polich, of Los Angeles, and Christine Polich, of Minneapolis; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

The family wishes to extend a special thank you for the care given to Laurie by Dr. Camille Lang, the staff at Cuyuna Regional Medical Center, Home Instead and Heartland Hospice.

A private memorial service was held at Koop Funeral Home, Crosby.
