Gary Paternoster

BULE, Minn. - Gary Paternoster, 56, of Bule, formerly of Hurley, Wis., died on Saturday, Aug. 12, 2017, of a drowning accident.

He was born on Oct. 10, 1960, in Wakefield, Mich., son of Victor and Gail (Soine) Paternoster. He attended Hurley schools and graduated from Hurley High School in 1979. He served in the U.S. Army Reserve from 1979 to 1985.

On Aug. 11, 1990, he was married to Christine Poole. She passed away on April 3, 2014.

He worked for many years for Wayne Transport Company, driving semi trucks for them until an eye injury forced his retirement.

Survivors of Gary are sons, Eric (Sam) and Ryan, and daughter, Amy; grandsons, Michael and Brangdin; mother, Gail; brothers, Michael (Tami) and Robert (Judy); sister-in-law, Colleen Sachs; and many nieces and nephews.

Gary was predeceased by his wife, Christine; father, Victor; paternal grandparents, Amedeo and Madeline Paternoster; maternal grandfather, Sanford Soine, and grandmother, Mayme (Soine) Valery; and father-in-law, Jack Poole.

Out of respect for Gary's wishes, cremation has taken place and a private memorial service for family and relatives will be held at a later date.
