George Anderson

TROUT CREEK, Mich. - George Anderson, 70, of Trout Creek, passed away Thursday, Dec. 6, 2018. He was born Dec. 27, 1947, to Harry and Selma (Keiranen) Anderson, of Rockland. Foster parents were Frances (Bud) and Leona (Granny) Bonin, of Trout Creek.

George graduated in 1967 from Trout Creek High School. He entered the U.S. Army Dec. 5, 1967, and served until his Honorable Discharge in Nov. 16, 1969. George worked at the White Pine Mine until its closure. He worked for Hautamaki Mechanical for several years. His most recent employment was as a truck driver, then retiring from Ottawa Forest Products in March 2018.

George enjoyed hunting, fishing, bowling, baseball and gardening. He liked watching his children and grandchildren play sports.

He is survived by his wife, Lee Ann (Hiitola); his children, Casey, George "Bucko," Luke (Rachel) and Gabrielle; grandchildren, Skylar, Dallas, Kori, Ashlei and Logan; brothers, Harry and Roy; sister-in-laws, Karen Abramson and Cindy Anderson; brother-in-laws, Wayne (Denise), Billy (Soccorro) Hiitola, Ernie Hiitola, John Pinkerton and many nieces and nephews.

George was preceded in death by his parents, foster parents, granddaughter, Ellyana Anderson; brother, Richard Anderson; Grant and Doris Mae Smith, Donald and Gladys Budd, Ralph and Shirley Rae, Robert and Gladys Bonin, sister-in-law, Susan Pinkerton, and brother-in-law, William (Bill) Abramson.

Visitation will be held Tuesday, Dec. 11, from 10 a.m. until time of services at 11 a.m. at the Cane Funeral Home in Bruce Crossing, with Pastor Kay Richter officiating. Burial and military rites will be held in the spring at Agate Cemetery.

The Cane Funeral Home of Bruce Crossing is assisting the family with arrangements.
