Cathy Perttula

WOODRUFF, Wis. - Cathy Perttula, 77, of Trout Creek, Mich., passed away on Tuesday, March 12, 2019, surrounded by her loving family at the Howard Young Medical Center in Woodruff, after a short bout with cancer.

Cathy was born in Bruce Crossing, Mich., on May 1, 1941. She graduated from Ewen High School in 1961 and married Jerry Perttula on June 2, 1962.

She was a homemaker, raising three daughters. When her children were grown Cathy also worked part-time out of the home washing dishes at Grandma Grooters and did in home daycare for her grandchildren and others. She enjoyed shopping, gambling, going for morning coffee and decorating her house for the holidays.

She is survived by her husband, Jerry; three daughters, Sherry (Todd) Barnett of Merrill, Tammy (Tom) Gibson of Bruce Crossing and Heather Austin of South Range, Mich .; four grandchildren, April (Tom) Bayer of Merrill, Coty (Tasha) Sayles of Merrill, Trevor (Kendall) Gibson of Lambertville, Mich., and Taylor Gibson of Minneapolis; and six great-grandchildren, Gracie Lessor, Ava Bayer, Liam Bayer, Annaka Sayles, Aili Sayles and Alita Sayles.

She is preceded in death by her parents, four sisters and one brother.

Services will be held at Cane Funeral Home in Bruce Crossing on Saturday, March 16. Family and friends may call during the visitation from 9:30 a.m. to noon. The funeral service will begin at noon.
