Terry Gene Decker

IRONWOOD, Mich. - Terry Gene Decker, 62, of Ironwood, passed away Tuesday, March 30, 2021, in Duluth, Minnesota, after a brief illness.

Terry was born on March 13, 1959, in Waupaca, Wisconsin, the son of Robert E. and Goldie Lou (Georgeson) Decker. He graduated from Waupaca High School.

Terry proudly served his country in the U.S. Army for two years at Fort Knox, Kentucky.

On July 18, 1998, he married Georgene Kay Anderson in Ironwood.

Terry loved playing pool and played for Monday night Northland and Thursday night Iron County pool leagues. He enjoyed cooking and made a mean brisket, fishing on beautiful Lake Gogebic, boating, camping and traveling to Texas to see his family. His favorite holiday was the Fourth of July, and he was known for buying the biggest and loudest fireworks.

Terry was a very hard worker, and was self-employed most of the time. He was an entrepreneur, doing a lot of different jobs, including car and insurance sales, truck driver in North Dakota, satellite installer and lottery technician contractor and boss.

Terry and Georgene owned and operated D&N Liquidators/CBDRX (Orenda) in downtown Ironwood.

His latest adventure was growing hemp (CBD) which he started this past summer.

Terry always had a smile on his face and would help anyone at anytime. He was a good-hearted guy. Everyone who knew him has their own special memories. He will be missed dearly by all of us.

Terry is survived by his beloved wife, Georgene; three children, Robert (Jill) Decker, Bennington, Nebraska, Tammy (Jamie) Aitkinson, Florence, South Carolina, and Joshua Decker, Duluth; three stepsons, Chris (Rachael) DeRosso and Jeremy (Jessica) DeRosso, both of Hurley, Wisconsin, Clint DeRosso, Superior, Wisconsin; five grandchildren, Sophia and Ellie Decker, and Hailee, Aaron and Madelyn Aitkinson; four step-grandchildren, Johnna and Ella DeRosso, Charlene Colassaco and Bailey Sivula; his parents, Robert and Goldie, of Texas; his siblings, Cindy McPherrin, Cathy (John) Randall, Christy (David) Cooper, Debbie (Neal) Jones and Cindy L. Davis, all of Texas; five sisters-in-law, Kathy (Andy) Cauthen, Chris Borden, Darlene (Don) Dugan, Barbara (Mark) Courtney and Amy Anderson; two brothers-in-law, Dan (Melanie) Anderson and Greg (Mary) Anderson; many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins; and many wonderful dear friends.

He was preceded in death by his mother-in-law and father-in-law, Elvera and David Anderson; and his brother-in-law, David Anderson Jr.

A family gathering was held at the Munch, and a celebration of his life will take place in Texas.
