Monica Kay Valkama

IRONWOOD, Mich. - Monica Kay Valkama, age 50, of Ironwood, passed away on Friday, Jan. 21, 2022, unexpectedly at her home.

Monica was born on Jan. 1, 1972, daughter of Donald and Janice Valkama of Saxon, Wisconsin. She graduated from Hurley High School in 1991, and attended Gogebic Community College to earn her degree in cosmetology.

Monica is survived by her significant other, William Mieloszyk; mother, Janice Valkama; children, Michael Jr., Kaycey and Kodey Henning of Hurley; brother, Richie of Hurley; and numerous aunts and uncles, as well nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her father, Donald Valkama.

Taken too soon soon but never will be forgotten. Go rest with the angels. Monica will be sadly missed by her family and friends.

Cremation was entrusted to Hildebrand Funeral Home of Rhinelander, Wisconsin.

A celebration of life will be held at Luoma's Saxon Pub on Saturday, July 9, at 1 p.m.
