Robert 'Bob' Nylund

IRONWOOD, Mich. - Robert (Bob) Nylund, age 95, passed away on June 13, 2023 at Villa Maria Hurley, Wisconsin.

Bob was born on June 26, 1927, in Ironwood, to parents William and Helmi (Lake) Nylund. He was a proud World War II veteran, serving in the U.S. Navy Seabees in the Pacific Theatre. He was a perpetual salesman and wrote three books in his 90s which are available on amazon.com (search for Bob Nylund). He was known as "Old Grateful Bob" for his 42 years of sobriety. He was a kind and friendly gentleman to the end. An avid golfer, he golfed 1,000 holes each year into his late 80s.

Bob was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Everett; daughter, Mary Beth; and wife, Ruth (Johnson) Nylund. He is survived by his Aunt Judy Lake; daughters, Marcia Kuehl and Greta Nylund; son-in-law, Greg Kuehl; grandchildren, Jacob Bilodeau, Hannah Hartung, Victor Kuehl and Katarina Boogaard; and great-grandchildren, Ellie Bilodeau, Benjamin Hartung, Lucy Hartung, Emilia Kuehl, Georgia Kuehl, Adrian Boogaard and Ander Boogaard.

The family thanks the kind and compassionate staff at Villa Maria for the care and comfort they gave Bob.

The visitation will be held at McKevitt-Patrick Funeral Home from 11 a.m. to noon, Friday July 14.
